- Add in more Scottish slang (since the main characters will be Scottish and the show will take place in Edinburgh), e.g. you = ye.
- Do we need to know Gary and John (The Lieutenant) are the police in the first scene?
It would add more tension if the audience didn't know whether they were good/bad guys or what Gary is 'quitting'.
- Too much backstory for Gary being given away? 'No attachments'.
- More emphasis on John (The Lieutenant) being 'sleazy'.
- Good humour
- Nice set up as to why Gary will get dragged back for one more case.
- Good chemistry between Gary and Lana.
